When my 9-year-old son mentioned a couple of weeks ago that Iron Mike Tyson would be fighting Jake Paul - a name I only recognize from having YouTube-obsessed children - my response was, “Uh huh, yeah, okay…..that doesn’t even make sense.”
Lo and behold, last night, we gathered around the television with the rest of the world to watch a fight that still……doesn’t make too much sense, LOL, but it was a night to remember, for sure.
My son and his best buddies began attending a local boxing gym a couple of months ago, so the merging of worlds and generations was a moment none of us wanted to miss. I threw a small, last-minute Fight Night party with yummy food, their favorite punch, and a few Dollar General decorations and invited our best friends over for the evening.
When the young boxer commentary began, I knew it was something that had to be recorded. I grabbed my podcasting microphones, which gave the boys madd aura points… (You’ll hear more about what that means in the show) …. and let them have at it.
